Dialogue must begin, first of all,
within oneself. If we cannot make
peace within, how can we hope to
bring about peace in the world?

The University of Spirituality By-Laws
'Everything always works out as it is meant to'

The University of Spirituality is not considered an organization, but rather a movement dedicated to bringing about world peace through individual spiritual participation. We may, in the future, organize people together for purposes of group communion and prayer. We are not any kind of legal establishment for one simple reason. It is our sincere belief that when spirituality becomes organized in any way shape or form, it becomes disorganized because the human ego has a great tendency to take precedence over the way things should be done. The spirit is, by its very nature, calm, passive and full of compassion for all of life. Our wish is for you to take what you can from the University of Spirituality to befriend your own spirit and build from there.

In this respect, aside from our ‘Vision Statement,’ the University of Spirituality has no set of by-laws to govern the organization. The governing principle of this organization is the Universal Law of Love and “everything always works out as it is meant to.” Operating under the Universal law of Love might lend the impression that everything always works out in a good, positive and otherwise rational fashion, but that is not always the case. The universal law of love works in mysterious ways, yet with perfect simplicity. Simplicity, in the realm of higher law, however, is well beyond human understanding. Naturally, we all desire our life to go smoothly, with joy, love and happiness all of the time. Just because unpleasant things happen, doesn’t mean that we are not operating under the law of love. The reason unpleasant things happen is rather complex and can be more easily explained and understood in the course we offer. To simplify things for now, let us just say that when unpleasant things occur, they are lessons we need to learn from and they stem from times in the past when we have not acted in accordance with the law of love.

The Holy Spirit of God is the guiding light for the establishment and operation of this organization. Our sincere faith rests with the Holy Spirit’s governing direction to keep the organization operating. We do not wish to run our organization as a business, but rather as a genuine service to all individuals desiring to develop themselves spiritually. We have faith in the ability of our members to develop themselves spiritually and be guided in the direction of their life by the God Within. Whoever is meant to be part of this organization will be guided by their inner voice. If you are not part of our particular organization, but develop yourself spiritually and engage in service work, you are still very much playing an active role in bringing about the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth. You see, we are all just playing our parts on the stage of life. Individuals who are serious about their spiritual development already have a working knowledge of Universal Law. This includes the ever most important law of love and the law of cause and effect. If you don’t yet have a basic understanding of these laws, you will learn them through the context of our course and more importantly, through your own experiences of developing your individual spirituality. You will come to understand these laws and you will also understand why our organization is governed by them.

Our organization is loosely structured to keep egos from over regulating and controlling organizational affairs. A more loosely structured organization gives members and students more faith in the organization and more importantly, more faith in themselves and this is what life and spiritual pursuit is all about. This supports the success of our mission because your success is our success. Aside from that, a loosely knit spiritual organization works best for the following reason. When an organization is formed and meets with success, it often becomes disorganized because egos begin to clash and the initial vision, mission and reason for being become lost along the way. This potential downfall holds especially true for a spiritual organization. Regardless of how sincere intentions initially are, when “Spirituality” becomes organized, for some strange reason, it tends to lose its spiritual message. This often happens because individual egos are full of fear-based mechanisms that seek to control other egos in an attempt to maintain a perception of what the outcome should be. Individual spirits, however, love to integrate and work together for a unified purpose and it is this common bond for which we should all strive. A successful spiritual organization serves as a stepping stone, a transitional shift in conscious awareness and understanding in a person’s life experience. This is what the University of Spirituality desires for you and this is why we place our utmost faith in you. You, in turn, must place the utmost faith in the God Within yourself. Our faith is very often put to the test, but try to keep in mind these final words.

Though it may be difficult at times, always keep in mind that while the law of cause and effect is perfect in justice, it is also perfect in love and forgiveness.
